Off to see Oz
THE Estelle School of Dance is helping to raise money for the Thamesdown Hydrotherapy Pool.
The school is holding raffles, auctions, a quiz night, discos and a sponsored swim to donate money to the pool and cover the cost of putting on this year’s show, The Wizard of Oz.
Earlier this month, the school took part in bag packing at Tesco in Ocotal Way where 28 dancers and mums raised £794.08.
A spokesman said: “In the past the school has performed many popular shows. As a result we have been able to present substantial amounts to a variety of charities including Diabetes UK, Mencap, Calm, SCWIDD, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital and the GWR Hospital Children’s Unit. The last show, Pinocchio, raised more than £4,000 for the Prospect Hospice.”
The Estelle School of Dance will also be bag packing at Sainsbury’s Bridgemead on June 4 and hopes the public will help them raise more money.
The Wizard of Oz, which takes place on June 21, 22 and 23, will involve more than 150 pupils.
Tickets are £9 for the Thursday and Saturday matinee performances and £11 for the Friday and Saturday evening performances. Tickets can be bought online or by ringing the Wyvern Theatre ticket office on 01793 524481.
