Wyvern marks new season of big names with top offer

FROM soap icons to comedy geniuses and 80s music superstars to dancing mice, the new Wyvern Theatre line-up has a mix of events to suit every taste.

Among the starsready to shine as part of the autumn 2012 season are Adam Ant, Les McKewon, once of the Bay City Rollers, former Eastender Leslie Grantham, top impressionist Rory Bremner, Olivier award-winning actor Tom Conti and comedians Julian Clary, Stewart Francis and Marcus Brigstocke.

Tickets for the shows go on sale this week, and on Saturday and Sunday, customers will be able to book tickets online without paying a booking fee.

Theatre director Derek Aldridge said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to save money and book at a time convenient to you.

“I am confident that customers will enjoy the ease of booking their favourite seats from the comfort of their own computer.”

The new season will be on general sale – by telephone and in person – from Monday.

Highlights include the murderous comedy Soap Opera, which stars Leslie Grantham, fellow former Eastender-turned singer Michelle Gayle and Graham Cole from The Bill.

Tom Conti is starring in the suspense thriller Rough Justice, the Vagina Monologues return once again starring Clare Buckfield and Vicky Entwhistle, the Woman in Black returns following its successful run in 2010 and Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps will be performed in February.

For younger members of the famiy there is Angelina Ballerina: The Mousical and Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom, while comedy fans can get their funny bones aching with Andy Hamilton, Jethro and Jim Davidson among others.

And of course Keith Chegwin returns to the Wyvern in December, to star in the pantomime Aladdin.
