SOUTH Cerney Angling Club is holding free angling taster days for people who would like to have a go at fishing, on Saturday, August 2, and Saturday, August 16.

Hosted in partnership with the Cotswold Waterpark Trust, the events are held as part of National Fishing Month and are supported by the Angling Trades Association and its supporting partners.

The taster sessions are free and offer an opportunity to try your hand at fishing with one-to-one guidance from a Licensed Angling Coach.

The idea is to encourage every family member to have a go at fishing whatever their age, gender, disability, or whichever cultural or social background they may be from.

After the fishing session there is an opportunity to do some pond dipping, to learn about the bugs and fish which live in the waters.

Both days take place at SCAC’s Gillman’s Lake, on their Wickwater complex, Wickwater Lane, South Cerney and open at 10am with the last session starting at 4pm.

The fishing sessions last for about 30 minutes, with all fishing tackle, bait, and licences are provided.

Booking is essential as spaces are limited. If you would like to take part contact Craig Hunt on 07989 973217.
