1947: Eleven scenes of singing, dancing and traditional panto comedy were provided in Jack and the Beanstalk which was being presented at Swindon playhouse.
1957: Chiseldon school children were taken to watch as the large tenor bell of Chiseldon Parish Church was lowered from the Belfry so that it could be tuned correctly.
1977: The newly formed Swindon Food Group was planning to hold a one day workshop on Food and the Community at Lower Shaw Farm, Shaw in West Swindon, discussing nutrition, health, the growing rate of organic husbandry and agricultural policies.
2013: Parents with young children were given a taste of the help and guidance they could get from the Children’s Society in Swindon at an open day for families with under-fives, at the Broadgreen Centre.
