SWINDON...

1947: As part of the fourth Methodist Youth Week, a programme of drama and a quiz was held at the CIivic Arts Centre. Teams of six competitors from three circuits: Bath Road, Regent Street and Prospect Road, took part in a quiz, in between two one act plays being dramatised.

1957: Voting was taking place in Swindon’s Municipal elections. There were candidates in four of the town’s six wards.

1977: Winning the title of Miss Stratton Carnival Queen was just a walkover for 17-year-old Pat Fisher for there were no other entries.

2013: Four new circular walking and cycling routes were launched to encourage people across the town to explore the local area.
