THE Under 14s Division One match between Swindon Rangers A and Brinkworth Cats A was abandoned after Rangers’ Dan Hopper came out of a challenge badly injured and an ambulance had to be called.

“He went into a 50/50 challenge and both players were fully committed and Dan rolled his ankle and suffered ligament damage to his knee,” said manager Dave Tyson.

“He is fine and has got his leg bandaged up and he will probably be repaired in a few weeks.

“Both myself and the Brinkworth Cats manager were really helpful, as was the referee, while we waited for the ambulance and Dan had gas and air because he was in some pain.

“The staff and families of both clubs wish him a speedy recovery.”
