SKS MILTAX may have only formed over the summer but that has not stopped them from storming to the top of the Swindon & District Division One table.

A 3-3 draw away to Chiseldon brought an end to their 100 per cent record but Bartosz Ludwicki’s side are still three points clear of second place Ramsbury.

Miltax surged into a 3-0 lead by half-time with goals from Maciej Chemielik, Lukasz Zaerba and Jakub Bedrich. Having made several changes after the break, the visitors allowed Chiseldon back into the game.

A brace from Nick Slater and a Stuart Cody goal proved enough for the hosts to fight their way back into the game and claim a share of the points.

“We were missing a few of our main players to injury and suspension which made things more difficult for us,” said Ludwicki.

“We were 3-0 up and in the second half we decided to change a few players to give other players a chance to have a game but that let them back into the game.

“We are very disappointed but on the other had it gave the opportunity to a few players to see what we have got.

“We are really surprised that we started so well, but we work really hard and everyone gives their best week after week.

“I thought it was going to be more difficult for us but we are starting to pick up injuries and suspensions so it is how we deal with that.

“Our aim is to get promotion and I believe we can do that given the good start we have had if we carry on working hard.”

Meanwhile in the Premier Division there appears to be no stopping Avtar Construction after they claimed their fifth win in five games beating Shield & Dagger 5-2 to pull six points clear at the top of the table.

A brace from Shane Hibbert added to goals from Danny Hiscocks, Kelvin Spenser and Michael Chivers to complete the comfortable victory.

In the league’s only other game Old Town United and Lower Stratton played out a 3-3 draw.

Old Town twice went ahead in the game courtesy of goals from Jack Duffy but William Hooton and Jack Doult both brought the visiting side back into the game.

Chris Woods put Old Town ahead for a third time in the game before Charlie Pugh secured a share of the spoils for Lower Stratton.

In Division One Bassett Bulldogs completed a big victory away to North Swindon coming out 5-1 victors.

Jason Hudson was the man of the match scoring four goals to add to an own goal and give Bassett their third victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Redhouse made the most of a depleted Swindon Spitfires coming back from two goals down to win 4-2.

The teams went in level at half time with Tom Goody and Paul Stevens cancelling out early goals from Spitfire’s Kevin Priest and Phil Legace.

Steven Nichols put Redhouse in the lead shortly after the break before Robert Dawes sealed the game with 20 minutes remaining.

In the weekend’s final game Ramsbury were 9-2 victors over Core Construction.
