FAIRFORD Town boss Gareth Davies is beginning to see the light after his side smashed Tytherington Rocks 5-0.

The Cinder Lane side had experienced a rocky start to their season but have now recorded three wins on the bounce to climb up the Hellenic Division One West table.

The home side pulled out a comfortable 3-0 first half lead thanks to goals from Jack Allen, Callum Marshall and Matt Boucher.

A goal from Aaron Dale on his home debut gave Fairford a 4-0 lead 10 minutes after the break before Ben Hillerby wrapped up the scoring.

“It was well deserved I thought, we were well worth the three points,” said Davies.

“We did say that we had to start well and we came straight out of the traps and I thought we were the much better side.

“Once we got the first goal, that was it and we played some good stuff and to say that we battered them was an understatement.

“We got five and we could have got a lot more but their goalkeeper has made some decent saves.

“I have been saying it for the last few weeks that it had been coming, and that is three on the bounce now and it is a lot more positive.

“I think the players are now realising that they have the potential to be a good side, and all in all happy days.

“It is positive, even the chairman said tonight that we had a decent set of players and it is amazing what a couple of wins can do for you, and the players are a lot happier.

“What we said was for the first 45 minutes was just to keep themselves in the game, because we had been playing games and we had been out of it by half-time.

“Today was just a case of carrying on the form of last week and just doing the basics well and we said if we got our noses in front we needed to kick on and to be fair I thought their performance today was different class.

“Another clean sheet as well for the back four and they were immense.

“We are certainly not the finished article by any means but we are getting to where we need to be.”
