WOOTTON Bassett manager Paul Braithwaite is taking tonight’s trip to Thatcham in his stride as they look to build on Saturday’s 2-1 win over Milton United.

Bassett know a win could see them leap frog their opposition in the table.

“We’ve got Thatcham, which is obviously not an easy place to go but again it is a game we feel we can go and put in a good shift and get something out of that,’’ said Briathwaite.

“We then go to Milton again on Saturday, so potentially it could be a good week, but for ourselves we will focus on the Thatcham game in the midweek and see if we can go there and try and get a point at least.

“I don’t understand the fuss about midweeks travelling away, you just have to make sure you’re organised.

“Your players should know when they have a game in midweek, they know a week in advance that they are playing away and you do your best to cater for it, organise the lifts.

“We’ve not had an issue with it, we’ve not struggled and I am pretty sure we won’t and it is the same for every team, it is all about being organised.

“We have got to understand that players have got to work so they can’t always be there on time.”

Elsewhere, Highworth will be looking for their first win three as they play host to Cheltenham Saracens.

While Shrivenham play host to Abindgdon United, where a win could lift them above their opponents and away from the bottom of the table.
