MANAGER Dave Webb says Swindon Supermarine will have plenty of incentive when they entertain Evesham United on Saturday.

Marine suffered a 5-0 hammering on the road at Evesham back in October and are desperate to make amends for that result.

Although Webb concedes that it will not be easy against a side who are unbeaten in their last 10 league games - a run that has seen them rise to fifth in the table - he hopes to build on Marine’s own good form at home.

“We had a bad loss when we went there back in October,” said Webb.

“We had some good opportunities to score but then we lost our discipline in the second half and they went on to win the game quite comfortably.

“It’s a game we’re looking forward to. There haven’t been too many games in my time here when we’ve been so outplayed, but we’ve had two this season and that was one of them.

“They have got a lot of good players and are on a good run and we are just focussing on putting in a better performance than when we went up there.

“We respect them and I know they are going to come here with confidence.

“I’ve been at Supermarine when we’ve been on a 10-game unbeaten run so I know how good their players will be feeling about their game right now, but we’re pretty confident as well.

“Our home form was something we talked about as a group earlier in the season. We were being beaten by teams we shouldn’t have been beaten by.

“We didn’t start well at home but in the last four games we’ve won them all. We still have a lot of home games left so we need to try to win them all and see what else we can pick up on the road along the way.”

Marine have no new injury concerns to worry about from last Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Shortwood United.

Webb is likely to name an unchanged side from that game and hopes to welcome Luke Hopper back into the squad this weekend after the striker returned to training last night following an ankle injury.

“Hopefully Luke can play some part,” said Webb. “Whether we have anyone else back from the other seven who are injured, I’m not sure.

“I don’t think I’ve picked the same team twice running this season and that is one of the big problems we’ve had.

“Right from the start we’ve had people missing but we are still really confident we can move up the league. How far we can go remains to be seen.”

Webb was also keen to wish near neighbours Highworth Town well in their FA Vase clash at home to Tunbridge Wells.

He said: “We’d like to send our best to John Fisher and all the lads at Highworth and will be hoping to hear that they’ve got through to the last 16 once our game has finished.”
