SWINDON Rockets have been presented with a new kit.

The power-wheelchair football team received their new strip from Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust Manager Clive Maguire.

Club secretary Rachel Lambert said: “The players were thrilled with there new kit many players are avid Swindon Town supporters.

“Clive and Swindon Town Football in the Community have been very helpful in organising bucket collections at the County Ground for us twice a year and this provides much-needed funds for the club.”

Maguire added: “We are delighted to have rekindled our links with the Swindon Rockets over the last year, as I know how much hard work and commitment the volunteers put into making the group such a success.

“We are very proud to have been able to have arranged a couple of matchday bucket collections, with another one planned for the MK Dons game in April, where they manage to raise funds to help with the running costs of the squad.

“I know the money raised last April after a collection went to them hosting their first ever National Wheelchair Festival at the Oasis back in August 2014.

“Donating the kit to these young players who break down the barriers when it comes to sport and disability, gives us immense satisfaction and we would like to take this opportunity to wish the club and all their volunteers every success for 2015 and beyond.”

The Rockets provide training sessions for 13 adults and children from across Wiltshire. They play both regional and national league football, which both involve travelling to either Guildford or Nottingham to compete.
