HIGHWORTH Town boss John Fisher is preparing his side for their biggest test of the month tonight.

The Elms side travel to Calne to take on Amesbury Town in the semi-final of the Wiltshire County Senior Cup.

Despite Highworth having a date with Tadcaster Albion in the quarter-final stage of the FA Vase on Saturday, February 28, Fisher is more concerend about getting a final in the bag early on.

“Everyone is talking about the Vase but we have a game on Wednesday night and as far as I am concerned it is more important than the Vase,” said Fisher.

“That is because the Vase can go either way, but if we win on Wednesday that puts a cup final on the shelf at the end of March which keeps our season ticking on.

“If we don’t watch it and you don’t go there with the right attitude you could get knocked out.

“I know we will, so I have got no problem with attitude but the Vase could go either way.

“It’s a great run but that could end in a weeks time and if you get knocked out Wednesday your season has gone from a great season to nothing.

“We just need to get the result.

“I have been looking at this game for weeks trying to keep players fresh.”
