ABBEY Meads Rangers Under 11s made it lucky 13 when they defeated Lydiard White 5-2.

Play got under way with the visiting Abbey Meads going straight on the attack and they took the lead after 10 minutes when Giovanni Pungitore netted.

The lead was doubled 10 minutes later when Kevin Prouse played in Dejan Broja to score.

Lydiard halved the arrears shortly afterwards when they beat keeper Brandon Ricketts.

But Meads quickly restored their two-goal advantage when Broja played in Pungitore for his second to make it 3-1 at the interval.

Both teams came out in the second half intent on attacking and with only four minutes on the clock, Jack Lampard made it 4-1.

Lydiard grabbed their second of the day before Lampard completed his brace to seal the win.

Under 12 Division 1

Tali Demetrious was on the score-sheet again for Highworth Town Juniors T in their home defeat to Wootton Bassett Town Blue at the Rec.

A Tommy Lawrence hat-trick in the second half spurred a fightback for Supermarine to take all three points with a 5-2 success against Wanborough.

The visitors took the lead when Finn Blunsdon lobbed the Marine keeper, before Jack Wilmot glided past two Wanborough defenders to level.

With five minutes of the first half remaining, Wanborough were awarded a penalty which was duly converted by Thomas Moore.

After the break, Moore netted his second to increase Wanborough’s lead.

But with 15 minutes remaining Marine fought back, with Lawrence grabbing a treble.

His first came after some good work from William Walton and then two minutes later the hat-trick hero was played in by Jayden Sadler for his second.

The treble was completed when he ghosted past two defenders to net.

The victory was completed when Harvey Hughes netted the fifth.

Division 4

Two goals from Ben Wollen were not enough to give FC Abbey Meads victory against Stratton Youth.

Abbey Meads started well and created several chances before Wollen gave them the lead.

Charlie Eustice put him through on goal and he hit a superb shot past the Stratton keeper.

Stratton equalised after breaking directly from an Abbey Meads corner and added a second just before half-time.

Abbey Meads came close to levelling the score early in the second half but Wollen’s shot was pushed onto the post by the Stratton goalkeeper.

Stratton extended their lead to 3-1 before Wollen got his second of the game.

Both teams had chances to add to the scoring before the end of the game but it finished 3-2.

Lydiard Black ran out 3-1 winners over Chiseldon.

Man of the match Ollie Tremblen raced clear to put Lydiard in front a minute before half-time.

Top goalscorer Will Steckerl saw a penalty saved before netting his 24th goal of the season with a cool finish.

Chiseldon pulled one back when they rounded the keeper to slot into an empty net before Sam Jones sealed victory for the hosts.

Under 14 Division 2

Ferndale Rodbourne YCFC picked up their 10th league victory of the season with an 8-2 win against a spirited and battling Lydiard side.

Excellent attacking football from Ferndale saw Afonso Alves Ferreira and Callum Barrett bag two goals each, with Dawid Osinski, Xavi Diaz-Butcher, Bailey Gallagher and Brandon Page also on the scoresheet. Matty Connor gave an outstanding player of the match performance.

Division 3

Ferndale Rodbourne Colts recorded a 3-1 win against Croft Juniors Blue. Two goals for Lucas Peachey and a goal for Harry Johnson put Ferndale 3-0 up, with Croft Juniors Blue scoring a late consolation goal. Neo Heath gave a strong, gutsy player of the match performance for Colts.
