SWINDON Supermarine manager Dave Webb is hoping that his players get what they deserve when they welcome AFC Totton to the Webb’s Wood Stadium tomorrow.

When Marine travelled south in October, they suffered the darkest day of their campaign as they slumped to a 6-0 reverse.

But when returning to the south coast in the FA Cup a few weeks later, the South Marston men came home with a 2-0 success.

When Totton arrive tomorrow, a victory for the hosts would see Marine leap-frog their visitors into 14th place.

“We have not been far away,” Webb said. “We were close against the leaders (Merthyr Town) and then against (fifth-placed) Larkhall.

“The performances have been pleasing and if we can get a win and move up a place, it is no more than what the players deserve.

“We just need to be a little more clinical in front of goal.”

Webb is hoping to welcome Kyle Lapham back to the squad tomorrow.

The defender returned to light training last week and the Marine chief is planning to at least include him on the bench.

Meanwhile, former Swindon Town youngster Aaron Oakley is set to get the results from the scan on his ankle today.

The defender has yet to play for Marine since signing from Frome Town earlier in the campaign and Webb is not going to rush the former Wales Under 21 international back.

“The important thing for Aaron is that he has a full pre-season, gets himself really fit, and we go again next season,” the Supermarine chief said.

However, should Oakley get some good news about his ankle then Webb says that he is unlikely to look for reinforcements.

The Webb’s Wood boss said last week that he was likely to contact Swindon Town manager Mark Cooper about a possible loan move for one of the club’s youngsters.

But with Lapham, and potentially Oakley, returning, Webb is happy with his numbers.

Meanwhile, Cirencester Town, who head to Frome Town tomorrow in the Premier Division, are looking to set a new Southern League crowd record for their 125th anniversary.

The Corinium Stadium outfit are marking the special occasion by inviting all former players, managers, coaches and supporters to the Arlesey Town match on March 28.

Entrance prices have been reduced for this game, with adults only paying £5, concessions £3 and all under 16’s are free. For more information call 01285 654 543 (Option 2).
