SWINDON Town Ladies could put one hand on the FA Women’s Premier League Division One South West title on Sunday if they triumph at Shanklin with second-placed Forest Green Rovers in cup action.
Swindon met Isle of Wight outfit Shanklin back in December, with Town winning 5-0 thanks to goals from Chyna Collings, Sarah Uzzell, Meg Vella, Ellie Maynard and an own goal.
Manager Steve Robertson said: “We are expecting a tougher game than when we played at our place but so far this season we have travelled well and we hope to keep that up.
“Training has again gone well and we will just have to see if it pays off.
“We need to pick up points to keep the pressure on second-placed Forest Green Rovers.”
Beth Thompson’s injury last Sunday keeps her out of the reckoning but Chyna Collings and Alice Smith both return.
