IT WAS a frustrating afternoon for Jon Fisher’s Highworth team as they were held to a goalless draw at Bracknell Town.

The tie was all set up to be a high scoring one with Bracknell’s Shane Cooper-Clark leading the Hellenic League top scorers board and Highworth’s TJ Bohane having scored 41 goals in all competitions, but the game failed to live up to expectations.

The hosts dominated the first half and Bohane could have had a hat-trick of headers within the first half hour, but was unable to turn any of Ryan King’s crosses home.

In the second half Highworth were denied a penalty when Callum Parsons was bundled over in the box before Dan Drewett rattled the crossbar with five minutes of the game to go to sum up a testing afternoon for the visitors.

Meanwhile it was a walk in the park for Wootton Bassett Town as a hat-trick from Dan Bailey helped them to a 4-1 home victory over Holyport.

The forward’s first came in the first half against the run of play, and wind, as he was able to hook his shot home.

He doubled the team’s advantage in the second half with a stunning strike from the edge of the area, before Steve Robertson made it three for the hosts.

Bailey completed his hat-trick as he finished off a slick move involving Steve Yeardley and Robertson before Holyport were able to pull back a consolation strike before the end of the game.
