PURTON Youth put in a superb display as they overcame Wroughton to lift the Under 16s League Cup.

As part of the North Wilts Youth & Minor League finals day at Cirencester Town’s Corinium Stadium on Sunday, Purton were able to complete a comfortable 4-0 victory over Wroughton Youth.

It was the same scoreline in the Under 15s League Cup final as Wroughton Youth completed a 4-0 win over Wootton Bassett Town Blue.

In the Under 14s League Cup, Swindon Supermarine were 4-2 winners over Croft Junior FC Red.

It was a closer affair in Saturday’s finals as Cirencester Town lifted the Under 13s League Cup with a 2-0 win over FC Abbey Meads.

Croft Junior FC Red overcame Castle Combe Colts to lift the Under 11s League Cup with a 2-1 win, while the match between Wootton Bassett Town Blue and Greenmeadow had to be decided on penalties after a goalless affair.

It was Bassett who came out victors with a 3-2 shootout win.

Meanwhile, Swindon Rangers All Stars recorded the biggest win of the season in the Under 14s Division One as they netted 20 goals without reply.

Harry Salter was the man of the match after a very strong display in midfield and weighing in with five goals.

Joe Tyson also added five goals to his season’s tally, while Mo Cham capped a superb performance upfront with four well taken goals.

Dan Hopper, captain for the day against his old team, scored a hat-trick, with Fin Merchant, Ty Rhys and Callum Hose all also getting on the scoresheet.

In Division Two, Ferndale completed a 7-2 win at third placed FC Abbey Meads.

Man of the match Callum Barrett netted a hat-trick to add to strikes from Afonso Alves Ferreira, Dawid Osinski and Brandon Page.

Matty Connor won Ferndale a penalty that was dispatched by Bailey Gallagher, who was also awarded their man of the match award for his influential display in midfield.
