MARK Flanagan has performed a U-turn on his decision to sign Swindon Supermarine and joined Hellenic Premier side Kidlington.
Marine announced the left-sided defender had re-signed at Supermarine on Wednesday, but less than two days later Flanagan has decided to switch to the Oxfordshire club to be nearer to home.
Webb’s Wood chief Dave Webb must now go on the hunt for a replacement as 17-year-old Ryan Morgan is currently the incumbent first-choice in Flanagan’s old position.
“Mark Flanagan, having signed on Tuesday, has decided not to stay, which is disappointing,” said Webb.
“We’ve got young Ryan Morgan at the club, he was with New College last season, he’s only just 17, but has done exceptionally well through pre-season.
“He’s one we want to work with and bring on. If we were being really selfish and greedy we’d like to bring another left-sided defender in.”
