TJ Bohane’s penalty double helped Highworth Town kick-off the new season with all three points at Bracknell Town.

Last season’s Worthians top-scorer found the net from 12 yards twice, whilst Callum Parsons also opened his account, with the hosts ending the afternoon with ten men.

Highworth started brightly, with Brad Clark seeing a shot blocked with just two minutes on the clock before Dan Drewett’s follow-up was pushed wide by Garry Aulsberry.

In the 10th minute, Drewett volleyed over before Bohane set up Richie Saunders, who netted but was correctly ruled offside.

John Fisher’s men did open the scoring six minutes later when Bohane was fouled in the box by Andre Kelly and he dispatched the resultant penalty.

With 27 minutes on the clock, Highworth made it 2-0 when midfielder Parsons turned smartly and beat the home goalie.

In added time at the end of the first half, the hosts left themselves with a mountain to climb as a wild lunge on Bohane from Grant Goodband left the striker prone, at which point the defender appeared to slap him, earning a straight red.

After the break, the Worthians made it 3-0 when Kelly conceded his second penalty after bringing down Parsons, allowing Bohane to convert.

Fisher’s men did concede late on when an attack broke down and Mike Lokwa ran from halfway before slotting under Kurtis Sharkey.
