THERE was no love lost between local rivals Royal Wootton Bassett Town Reserves and Wroughton as the visitors to Gerrard Buxton Sports Ground came out on top of the nine-goal thriller.
Mark Love’s side lifted themselves up to eighth place and above their near neighbours with the 5-4 victory.
With the top two of Malmesbury Victoria and Trowbridge Town not in action due to a waterlogged pitch it gave the sides chasing them the chance to close the gap.
Melksham Town Reserves put seven past bottom-of-the-league Andover New Street Swifts to move them level on points with the top two.
Ludgershall Sports also closed the gap on the leaders as they completed a 4-2 victory over Trowbridge Wanderers.
Shrewton United also put themselves in the top five as they completed a 4-1 victory over second-from-bottom Wilts Calne Town.
Corsham Town Reserves lifted themselves up the table with their second win of the campaign as they completed a 5-2 home victory over Sarum Youth, while Devizes Town Reserves recovered from their 5-0 defeat to Ludgershall Sports to secure a 1-0 win at Marlborough Town.
