IN TOUGH conditions, Liden and Abbey Meads played out a closely fought contest as they both searched for vital points in this Under 12s clash.

The first half was a closely run contest with both defences holding firm.

However, with the half drawing to a close, Liden were awarded a free-kick which they took the lead from.

After the interval, Abbey Meads fought back and levelled the scores when Max Brown ran on to a lovely pass from Ashley Marsh to net.

Liden piled on the pressure in a bid to regain their lead but Brandon Ricketts made several superb saves.

Abbey Meads then snatched the win late in the game when a Jack Long cross found Brown, who beat two defenders before slotting the ball beyond the Liden keeper.
