AFTER a faultless start to the season, Shrivenham Town will be hoping to make it three from three when they host Hook Norton on Saturday.

Michael McNally’s team maintained their 100 per cent record in Division One West last weekend by beating Tytherington Rocks 3-0, with goals from Jamie Prictor, Kias Bonner-Shea and Lance Lewis enough to secure a second successive win.

“It was the best we’ve played for a while. From start to finish, we bossed the game and scored three great goals,” said McNally “They (Tytherington Rocks) were a decent side. We played really well and with a lot of confidence. It was good to see.

“The team are full of confidence and the lads are playing with a smile on their face but Hook Norton will be in the top two or three at the end of the season.

“I’m expecting a very tough game. I wouldn’t read too much into their defeat (to Fairford). They’ll want to try and put it right against us.

“It will be one of our toughest games of the season. We will try to cope with their pace and power going forward.

“If we play like we played last week, in our work-rate and the way we shut them down and got on the ball, we’ll have a good chance.”

Levi Cox, Paul Carson and Steve Keir are all unavailable for Saturday’s game as they are attending a wedding.

Gareth Davies’ Fairford Town currently sit top of the tree after two wins and a defeat so far this season.

Last time out, Davies’ team recorded an emphatic 5-0 win over Hook Norton and this Saturday, they will travel to the Meadowbank Stadium to play Shortwood United Reserves.

Purton will be hoping to resume normal service after a freak 9-6 win against North Leigh when they host Easington Sports at the weekend.

Matt Cosnett’s New College have now lost two from two following last weekend’s 3-1 defeat to Woodstock Town.

However, this weekend will provide the perfect chance to get their season up and running as they play bottom-of-the-league North Leigh.
