SWINDON Town Ladies boss Steve Robertson is striving to see his side continue on the right path when they host Charlton Athletic on Sunday.

After losing their opening two games, Town claimed the first victory of their maiden season in the FA Women’s Premier League Southern Division with a 4-3 triumph over Portsmouth last weekend.

Robertson’s side roll out the red carpet for Charlton at Barrington Park tomorrow (kick-off 2pm) and the Town manager is hoping to see more evidence of his team growing game-by-game.

“Fingers crossed, we can kick on now but we are still going to keep our feet on the ground. We are fully aware that the next game is going to be even harder,” said Robertson.

“Another good performance would be absolutely fine for me, although it would be nice to get more points on the board.

“If we take the cup game (a 2-1 loss to Denham United) out of the equation, because that one was a bit of a dip, and we go just on our league form, from Charlton to Tottenham to Portsmouth, we have definitely taken big steps in the right direction.

“It’s important that we remember what we had to do to take how we took those steps and hopefully, we keep moving in the right direction.”
