SWINDON Supermarine roared back to winning ways with a thumping victory on the road at Wimborne Town tonight.

Dave Webb’s side had been comfortably beaten 3-1 at home by Evesham United on Saturday but they went about repairing that damage in Division One South & West of the Southern League by putting five goals past the Magpies in their own back yard.

Toby Holmes capitalised on the some indecision in the Marine back-line to give the hosts the lead with 14 minutes on the clock but it didn’t take Webb’s men long to hit back through Josh Parsons, who curled home after a similar error from Wimborne’s defence.

A Magpies own goal with 23 minutes gone handed Marine the advantage and they never looked back from there, although it took Marine until two minutes into the second period to plunder their third of the match, with Jack Alexander, Parsons and Joe Selman all combining to allow Connor Waldon to notch his 11th goal of the season so far.

In the 71st minute, Parsons grabbed his second of the match as he lobbed home to make it 4-1 and there was still time for Selman to round things off as he followed up after Bradley Gray’s strike was spilled by the Wimborne goalie.
