JEFF Roberts is looking to make the most of home advantage tonight as Highworth Town welcome AC London to the Elms in their FA Vase first round replay.

Sunday’s original draw produced no fewer than six goals, with Aysa Corrick netting twice for the Worthians before Ash Edenborough snatched them replay with the last kick of the game.

After nicking a last-minute equaliser at the weekend, Roberts wants his side to go one better this time around and book their place in the next round where they would host Combined Counties League Premier Division side Knaphill on November 12.

“We are looking to make the most of home advantage. They won’t want to come to our place where there is a little bit of a slope, I don’t think they’ll like coming to the Elms,” said Roberts.

“We do know a little bit about them now so we know who are their play makers, what the wingers are like, and we know they’re a little bit vulnerable at the back.

“With the quality that we have, we should go out and beat them as we know a little bit about them but they know a little bit about us too.

“As long as we go out straight away and put them under pressure, I’m confident we can get a result.”

The Highworth manager was also happy with the character his side showed on Sunday afternoon to earn a replay.

“We fell behind on every occasion, so it just shows that bit of character in the team and how much they wanted to try and get that replay,” he added.

“There is a very strong team bond there at the moment because results are going our way in the league.

“It was an eventful game. To be honest, everybody hears about AC London and how physical they are but we didn’t really find that.

“They were very quick at attacking and they do like their little dives here and there but technically, they are a very good side.

“We squeezed a goal in extra time right at the end so they’re going to have to come down to us now.”

Highworth will be boosted by the return of Chris Taylor from injury and Luke Cousins, who is available after after suspension.
