JUSTIN Miller’s Purton travel to table-topping Fairford Town in Hellenic Division One West on Saturday.

Miller’s men have enjoyed an upturn in form of late, with just one defeat in their last six and are currently fifth in the league.

As well as their good form, the away side will also be well rested after their previous game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

However, Miller’s men will come up against a side who have won all seven of their earlier home games and have only conceded once in the process.

“It’s a tough one that is for sure, away from home against top of the league and they’re beating everyone comfortably,” said the Purton manager.

“We need to go there and work hard, do what we have been doing well and we’ll take it as it comes really.

“You have to try and win, there is no point in playing if you go out there for the draw so we are going to play our football and see where it takes us.

“The pressure is on them so we will get the ball down to try and play and see if we can match what they are doing and hopefully get three points.”

While the Purton boss is expecting a tough game against Gareth Davies’ league leaders, he insists his side aren’t overachieving to be in their current position.

“We were a little bit unfortunate earlier in the season. We dominated games we really should have won and we see ourselves as a top four team,” added Miller.

“They’ve (Fairford) signed a lot of players who have played for higher clubs, they’re obviously going to push to try and get promotion.

“From our point of view, we have players that can match them. In the final third, it is about quality really so hopefully we can produce.

“We’ve been solid defensively so we don’t really look like we are going to concede goals.

“We look like we can score goals, but they’re at home and will try to take the game to us.“ Meanwhile, Shrivenham will be in Hellenic League Challenge Cup action this weekend away to Westwood United.
