SWINDON Supermarine manager Dave Webb is taking nothing for granted as his team go looking for a lifeline at AFC Totton tonight.

Marine stretched their winless run in the Southern League Division One South and West to six matches as they were beaten 3-1 at home by Didcot Town last weekend but they have the opportunity to hand their fortunes a shot in the arm with a trip to the Stags, who are currently third-from-bottom.

Totton have only tasted victory three times so far this season but Webb, whose side are sixth in the table, five points adrift of Shortwood United in the final play-off position, doesn’t believe that a straightforward prospect awaits his out-of-form Marine team.

“There are no easy games in this division – even if we’d won six games in a row, this would still be a tough one,” said the Webbswood Stadium chief.

“We need to try and go there prepared to work hard and hopefully, we can come away with a positive result.

“We really need that because we’ve got three tough away games in Totton, Paulton Rovers and Barnstaple away on a Tuesday night.

“It’s everybody’s responsibility to try and put things right and we have to try and do that against Totton.”

Webb hopes to have full-back Ryan Morgan back available for today’s trip to Hampshire after he missed Saturday’s loss to Didcot through illness while Sam Morris is also back in contention after missing the weekend’s defeat through suspension.

Striker Josh Parsons is still banned however and will serve the second game of his four-match suspension.

Royal Wootton Bassett Town travel to Western League Premier Division side Bradford Town in a rearranged second-round Wiltshire Senior Cup tie on Wednesday evening.
