SWINDON Supermarine manager Dave Webb insists there will be no complacency from his promotion pushing side when they host Bishops Cleeve tomorrow.

Marine are in the midst of a seven-game run where they face six of the seven top sides in Southern League Division One South & West – Marine being the other in fourth place currently.

With 14th place Bishops Cleeve being the seventh team in that run, which stretches until the end of February, you could forgive the Webbswood Stadium side for taking their foot off of the gas.

However, Webb will not allow for a drop in standards as he prepares to host a side who have lost just once in their last eight outings.

“For me, Bishops Cleeve are an improving side,” he said.

“They have got good players there and if you look at their results, they are probably one of the most improved sides in the league.

“If you look at teams who are in their position, they are the team who have improved the most this season.

“There are no easy games and if we don’t approach it right, if we turn up and think it is going to be an easy win, we’ll come unstuck and lose.

“I won’t be underestimating Bishops Cleeve because I know they are a danger and if we don’t approach it right, we’ll get beaten.”

Ash Taylor was replaced by Ryan Wood in the starting XI at Taunton Town last weekend as the defender continues to struggle with a hamstring injury, but he is the only doubt heading into this weekend.

Webb’s troops are 12 games unbeaten in all competitions, having gone through the months of December and January without tasting defeat.

While Webb acknowledges his side’s achievement, he is trying to enjoy the challenge facing his side rather than get overwhelmed by it as they look to maintain their promotion push.

“It’s a great effort,” he added.

“When you go to Evesham, when you go to Hereford, we know how tough they are going to be but we’re excited and we’re enjoying it.

“Big games are where you test yourselves as a club and we’re coming away with great plaudits.

“We’re competing with good sides and we are in the thick of it and we deserve to be.

“Our challenge now over the next 14 games is to stay in there. If we do that this year, it will probably be the biggest achievement we have had in my time as manager because this year was always going to be difficult with the quality in the division.”
