TAWNY Owl made it a perfect 10 straight victories in the defence of their Premier Division title as they put Swindon Centurians to the sword in a 12-1 rout.

Lewis Waldon led the charge with five goals for Anthony Pascarella’s side as they made it 15 wins in a row in all competitions.

Jack Allan was not far behind with four goals of his own, while Scott Price struck twice and Tawny’s haul was completed by Ryan Fry.

Manager Pascarella said: “It was a very good performance. I don’t think it was our best this season but it was still pretty good. The lads did really well and it’s not easy to score 12 goals.

“It was our first league game in more than a month and it’s hard to have these breaks as you can come back a bit flat and rusty sometimes.

“Luckily, we haven’t seemed to let it affect us and the lads have been doing really well all season.”

Tawny are fighting on three fronts this season as they have also reached the semi-finals of both the Swindon Advertiser Cup and the Wiltshire Junior Cup, and Pascarella has set his sights on matching the club’s treble-winning feat under their previous guise as Fratellos back in the 2013-14 campaign.

“We want to keep our form going and we have got some big games coming up in the next few weeks,” said Pascarella.

“The aim is to do the treble this year. We did it a few years ago so we want to try to do it again.

“We want to try to go through the whole season without losing a game. We know that will be hard but we’re playing some really good stuff at the moment.”

Despite their unblemished record, Tawny remain second in the table behind Deers Leap, due to the leaders having played five games more.

Peter Smith’s side held off Tawny’s charge for another week thanks to a 5-2 win at Swindon Spitfires, with Ashton Glover netting twice and Jason McGovern, Michael Chivers and Brandon Wheatley also on target.

Jason Hudson got both goals for Bassett Bulldogs as they remain third in the table after a 2-1 success at Ramsbury.

North Swindon WMC climbed off the bottom after a 1-0 win over new basement boys Spectrum, with Liam Robins the man to separate the two teams, while Sportz Central saw off Village Inn 5-2.

Sport 4 Pinehurst cut the gap to Division One leaders Old Town United to four points after a spectacular 7-1 success at home to Core Construction.

Jonathan Peachy-Score bagged a hat-trick, Luke Richards got two and there was a goal each for Malcolm Cook and Ryan Welland as Pinehurst took advantage of Old Town’s 1-1 draw at home to third-placed Lower Stratton.

Lyneham claimed a 3-0 win at Chiseldon, Stratton Juniors beat New Town All Stars 2-0 and there was a 1-0 victory for Haydon Wick over Moredon.

The other game finished all-square as bottom side Swindon AFC picked up just a fourth point of the campaign in a 2-2 draw at home to Marlborough Reserves.
