GREYHOUND made the most of home comforts as they sailed past Coleshill Youth in a 6-1 win in Division One as a mix of league and cup action took place this weekend.

The other top-flight game was between Cleeve Tech and Swiss Chalet, with the former coming out on top 2-0.

Division Two’s Highworth Town Sunday also picked up three points, they overcame Save on Tyres with little trouble, winning 5-1 at home.

Purton Redhouse left the weekend empty-handed, as they lost out to 2-1 winners Nationwide.

Penhill United made the most of their cup outing and almost hit double figures at home to Stratton Saints, with the hosts running out 9-1 winners in the Knockout Cup.

Jack Hallen got six as Charlie Gillet and Bradley Stanners also notched, to the delight of manager Graham Dunn.

“We played very well and we have made a good start to the season, playing three and winning three,” said Dunn.

“At the moment we are looking good, we had a lot of chances and we were winning 6-1 at half time.

“It could have been more, so obviously we deserved it and I am very pleased with the players.

“Jack scores goals almost every week, so if we can keep him fit, I will be more than happy.

“We want to win the cup, hopefully we can keep the team together and happy, so we can try to go a long way, that’s the aim.

“We have about 20 players signed on, so keeping them happy each week is hard but they all seem to be happy, so it’s going okay at the moment.

“I just hope we can keep winning."

FC Walcot had no issues putting in a performance on the road, as they scored four to end Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development’s cup aspirations.

In the Chairman’s Trophy, Chisledon Sunday produced a clinical performance to beat PSV Swindon 14-3.

Four goals for Cricklade Park Rangers still wasn’t enough for them to be triumphant against Wanborough, as they were defeated 6-4.

Paxton House United had no such trouble as they put five past Sevenfield United in a routine 5-0 win.

Rodbourne Real and Openwork United scored nine goals between them, but sadly for Openwork eight of them went to the home side in an 8-1 triumph.

Smart Movers and Rudis also had to divide nine goals between them, but their tie was slightly more competitive as Rudis recorded a 5-4 triumph.

With the game finishing 2-2 after normal time, Eldene were forced to dig deep in extra time to book their place in the next stage of the trophy, beating Swindon Rovers 3-2 away from home.
