  water. Wages for school caretakers and groundsmen amounted to £3,732 while rent, rates and taxes cost £4,601 and building repairs and insurance amounted to £2,111. School meals cost £896, books and
  stationery £3,124 and £175 was spent on prizes with the “conveyance of children” costing £87. The Government grant towards meeting these costs amounted to £61,228.
