THE main vision of Mountford Manor Primary School is to provide a caring and vibrant community where each individual is challenged and inspired to reach his or her full potential and develop a zest for life-long learning.

The school, which is part of the White Horse Federation, looks to nurture children’s aspirations and provide life-long learning skills for the future while providing a stimulating and enriching environment to enthuse each child’s confidence, enabling them to achieve their full potential.

Staff look to build up the self-belief children by celebrating each and every one of their successes.

A full and rounded education is provided which makes sure pupils develop the key skills of numeracy, literacy and ICT so they are ready for the next step of their schooling.

This approach helps every child to enjoy learning and look forward to coming into school.

Mountford Manor also understands the importance it plays within the community and passes this on to its youngsters by inspiring and motivating them to become well balanced citizens of tomorrow, to value themselves and others.

The children are instilled with a sense of self-worth, tolerance of diversity and an ability and willingness to contribute to the local and global community.

There are close links between the home, school and the community by working closely together with parents as partners to provide support for every child. There is close liaison with community groups and local schools.

Before each day staff are on hand to talk to parents in the playground but if they want a longer discussion then appointments can be made.

The school also understands the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Sweets are banned but pupils are allowed to eat fruit and there is a healthy tuck shop they can use.

There is much to offer once the day is over with a variety of after-school clubs that range from cookery classes to the film club.

Pupils also have the chance to attend the school’s breakfast club to ensure they have a full breakfast to prepare for the day ahead.
