Swindon Talent 2011 has begun and the search is on for the town's hidden jewels.

This is the fifth year the contest has been held and it is growing from strength to strength. It is run by the Swindon Advertiser and Swindon 105.5 community radio. So enjoy your five minutes of fame by entering this year's competition.

Heats will be held at

• WHARF GREEN, SWINDON on Saturday, May 28, 12pm.

• PURTON CARNIVAL on Friday, June 3, 7.30pm.

• OLD TOWN FESTIVAL on Sunday, June 26, 11.30am.

• WOOTTON BASSETT ARTS FESTIVAL on Friday, July 1, 7pm.

• BIG ARTS DAY at Lydiard Park on Saturday, July 9, 12pm

PLUS there will be an open microphone heat at THE PLATFORM in FARINGDON ROAD on June 16 at 6pm. No pre-booking, just turn up on the day from 5pm.

Finals will be at the WYVERN THEATRE on Saturday, August 6

RULES:

Participants will perform a routine of up to four minutes.

You must be amateur and cannot earn a living from entertainment, and you must live or work in Wiltshire. Swindon Talent 2009 & 2010 finalists cannot enter.

Entry open to any age – under-16s need signed permission from a parent or guardian.

Organisers have the right to refuse entries if health or safety is considered at risk.

All performers taking part agree to be photographed, videoed and recorded for both publication in the Swindon Advertiser and on the Swindon Advertiser website and broadcast on Swindon 105.5.
