I HEAR that local politicians of all colours will be taking to the stage of the Pilgrim Centre on February 13, for a public discussion on the Government's plans to enter all citizens into a central identity database.
The panel will be joined by an expert on enterprise-scale database systems.
It will be interesting to hear what she thinks of the scheme.
Sadly, it seems that my MP Anne Snelgrove will be unable to attend.
I was looking forward to hearing her justification for consistently voting in favour of the Identity Cards Act 2006, after repeatedly failing to explain her reasons in our correspondence prior to the passing of the act.
However it seems that I will not be receiving an explanation on this occasion.
