Letter from Nicholas E Gough
HAPPY birthday, banker! Well, someone's got to say it and toast him with his favourite claret.
(Or) Deal Or No Deal (Channel 4) has been tempting people with £250,000 for over two years now. Noel Edmonds' wish-fulfilment show is no more than a glorified guessing game with imaginary sums of money in 22 identical red boxes. Noel earned a BAFTA nomination and the banker's banter makes him the nation's finest anonymous comedian.
The show will surely last forever given that many thousands of people have unfulfilled dreams and eagerly await sitting in the crazy chair at the pound table.
