WHILE very understandable, the comment expressed by Linda Howe the Cancer Research UK shop treasurer was to say the least quite extraordinary. To wish that any person should contract cancer is quite simply outrageous.
Cancer in its many forms is a disease that Cancer Research UK studies in the hope that treatment and ultimately a cure may one day be found. Cancer affects not just the patient but family and friends of the patient, to wish this dreadful disease on anyone is to wish the pain and suffering onto many.
I hope that upon reflection Linda Howe might reconsider her first thoughts and take a more charitable view in respect of the selfish individual who considers it appropriate to steal from a charity. I wish him no ill only that he is caught, brought before the courts, named, shamed and punished.
