A SCRIPTWRITER is getting ready to see his screenplay being given the Hollywood treatment.

Jaden Thompson, of Rodbourne, has been told that a script he wrote will be made into a film.

The 35-year-old had sent Reborn to American writer Tom Lazarus in 2003.

And he is set to net $140,000 (£69,500) from the project.

"I pitched the idea as a sequel to the 1999 movie Stigmata, which Tom wrote," said Jaden.

"I had an email from Tom saying it was going ahead. I started break-dancing when I read it."

Stigmata centres on a 23-year-old Pittsburgh hairdresser who begins to show the same wounds inflicted on Christ when he was nailed to the cross.

It starred Patricia Arquette and Gabriel Byrne.

In the sequel Jaden explores what would happen if Christ's DNA was found on a spear.

"Scientists manage to bring him back for the second coming," he said.

"I'm really excited about it, I have to pinch myself from time to time to prove it is really happening."

But Jaden hasn't had time to rest on his laurels.

Since 2003, when he first contacted Tom, the film fanatic has been busy penning more scripts.

His latest, Eleven, looks at the end of the world.

"It is about the end of days," he said. "I just dreamt about it. I get ideas and think that would make a good movie, so I write it down.

"I really love films and I like being this side of it.

"I know what makes a good movie and what people want to see when they go to the cinema.

"I think Eleven could be the one, it is my master egg.

"It has been doing the circuits, as film scripts do, and it has been linked to TriggerStreet, which is run by Kevin Spacey.

"So at the moment it all looks really positive."

Jaden said he is also in talks with Elton John about producing Vamp, the musical.

"It will be on ice and will be great," he said.

"I've copyrighted all the names and have a monopoly on it so things are looking good there as well."
