GEORGIA Coles has defied all odds by escaping a head-on crash with just cuts and bruises and has launched an appeal to find her mystery saviour who helped her at the scene.

The 20-year-old, who lives off Drynham Road, Trowbridge, was on her way to meet a friend in Devizes on Thursday evening last week when the accident happened at Semington.

“I was driving down the A350 and the road must have been worked on because my wheel just went and I lost all control of the car,” she said.

“Somehow my airbag was activated which knocked me unconscious and so I couldn’t brake or turn away and so I eventually ended up going head on with another car.”

Miss Coles woke up to find a man checking her over and now hopes to find him to say thank you for all the help he gave her on the night.

“He was there from the time I woke up but because of the impact, I can’t remember anything else,” she added.

“I know he phoned his wife to let her know he wouldn’t be home for a while but other than that I can’t remember his name or what he looked like. The longer time has gone by, the less I can remember.

“He kept me awake and kept me talking and just wanted to make sure I was all right.

“Usually people will just slow down and have a look before driving away but he stopped and looked after me which meant the absolute world.”

Fire crews from Trowbridge and Melksham had to cut the roof off Miss Coles' Nissan Micra so that ambulance crews could treat her.

She said: “The car was completely taken apart and they had to cut the roof off to get me out.

"It ended up completely dismantled and as the fire crews were cutting me out, they found that the battery had been flung out of the car which shows how much of an impact the crash had.

“The emergency services were brilliant and I had the critical care ambulance team there and they were so amazing in getting me to hospital.”

Miss Coles, who works at Salon Supplies on Shails Lane, was rushed to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with neck and pelvis injuries but after several scans and an overnight stay, she was discharged on Friday.

She added that since the incident she has posted on social media about finding her “knight in shining armour” and hopes he comes forward to her appeal.

“I would love to see if I can find the lovely man who stopped just to say a big thank you for all he did for me," she said.

"He looked after me, kept me warm, kept me awake and was holding my neck still until the ambulance service could take over. I just feel so lucky.”
