EMERGENCY services are dealing with yet another serious road traffic collision on the A350 between Melksham and Chippenham.
The collision is believed to have happened at around 9am between a car and lorry near Lackham College with police, fire and ambulance crews at the scene.
The woman driver was reportedly cut out of her vehicle by the fire service’s heavy machinery unit and the road is shut down with traffic diverted to other routes.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “It is relatively serious. Crews are trying to cut the female driver of the car out now.
“We are advising traffic to go around another way.”
There have been two serious crashes on the A350 recently: a 40-year-old man died on Sunday, February 28, and 49-year-old woman was killed in an accident in December.
A petition has been launched calling for Wiltshire Council to change the markings of the Corsham Road junction.
It can be found at www.ipetitions.com/petition/a350-lacock-markings and had been signed by 1,579 people by 10.30am today.
