A PAINTER and decorator, from Calne, has scooped a massive reward on the National Lottery Gamestore, after placing a throwaway bet with a leftover pound in his account.

Netting a huge £100,000, father of four, Lee Chivers, decided to invest his remaining pound on the online game and now plans on treating himself with a spending spree.

He plans to upgrade his 20 year old Astra Estate with a new van and a to go on holiday but he and his partner Rebecca Busby, 35, still cannot believe their luck.

"I have not played online for six months but checked my online account when I came home from work last Friday (July 1) night and realised there was some money still in it,” said Mr Chivers.

"I bought a ticket for that night’s EuroMillions draw and one for Saturday night’s Lotto draw as well.

"There was just a pound left after that, so I decided to spend my last pound on an instant game.”

Mr Chivers played £100k Rainbow Instant Win Game online at National Lottery Gamestore, after buying his Lotto and EuroMillions tickets at National-Lottery.co.uk.

He had previously had a couple of £10 Lotto wins, while Ms Busby once matched four numbers to win £70.

As well as a new van, they plan to save for the future and give some money to an undecided charity.

"Rebecca was next to me on the sofa and when I showed her my phone, she just could not believe it either,” he added.

"We were just staring at it. The children were all there, so it was nice for them to be excited too. We then phoned both of our parents to tell them the good news.

"It has been an unbelievable couple of days. My car blew up a couple of weeks ago so I am looking forward to investing in a brand new van.

"We are recently home from a trip to Florida which we saved and saved for and have now paid off.

“We are hoping to book a villa somewhere over the next few months for us all to enjoy a holiday together. It will be nice to be able to pay upfront."
