TETRAPLEGIC Rob Camm, treated in Wiltshire after a car crash, has followed up his ground-breaking participation in a Tough Mudder challenge by completing the event again.

Rob, 22, was paralysed from the neck down and relied on a ventilator following a car crash in September 2013 - just before he was due to start university.

A keen rugby player, he suffered a C3 spinal injury in the crash and spent 96 days in intensive care before being transferred to a specialist spinal unit in Salisbury.

Rob first completed the 12-mile course on a wheelchair he controls with his chin last year but had problems with battery life of the chair.

Yesterday he took part complete with a custom trailer made by a friend, carrying extra batteries, which allowed him to significantly cut his course time at Cirencester Park and helped earn him a green headband.

Rob has been training for the event over the last few months in his all-terrain chair, which is an off-road wheelchair mounted on top of a quad bike.

“I wanted to do it again because I enjoyed the challenge of completing it and being part of the team in doing so," said Rob.

"I like testing myself and this event gives me the chance to do it.”
