FOOTAGE captured by Tommy Arkle on Saturday night shows the Wetherspoons brawl in full flow, with dozens of people landing brutal punches and kicks on each other.

A police officer was struck in the face as the mass brawl erupted in the Trowbridge bar at around 12.30am but was not seriously injured.

Levent Sali, 21, from Newtown in Trowbridge, has been charged with being in possession of a knife following the incident and is due to appear at Chippenham Magistrates' Court on March 2.

One man suffered a head injury which was dealt with by paramedics and another man sustained bruising to his face.

A spokesman for JD Wetherspoon said: "We completely condemn the action of a large number of people at our pub in Trowbridge. The incident caused distress to our staff and regular customers. The pub has never encountered an incident like this.

"We will work with the police to ensure that those involved are brought to justice."
