STONEHENGE is one of the places chosen by Samsung as it prepares for what it says is the biggest flagship phone launch in UK company history.

To mark the launch of the groundbreaking new smartphone Galaxy S8 and S8+a giant 7x3 metre scale model of the phone is being taken throughout the UK

Samsung says it has already had record pre-orders for the new Galaxy models.

A survey by the company found that Stonehenge was the nation's third favourites best sight in the UK

Snowdonia, the mountainous region which features the highest peak in Wales at 1,085 metres, was voted number one in a poll of more than 2,500 people.

The top 10 views also include Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands, St Ives Bay in Cornwall and the Palace of Westminster in London.

The most important factor for a quintessentially British view was found to be rolling countryside, with 42% of people agreeing with that statement.

Britons under the age of 55 take an average of 1,071 photographs on their mobile each year, according to the study.

The S8 models are being positioned at many of the winning locations to showcase the views via the new Infinity Display screen and bezel-less design, which form a continuous surface with no buttons or harsh angles.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are available for pre-order until April 19 and launch in UK on April 28.
