A SWINDON teenager was given the opportunity to make his ‘if I ruled the world wish’ come true over the weekend.
Dan Steele, 18, pictured, from Rodbourne, was prompted to write what he would do should he ever get the opportunity to preside over the universe, on a Facebook page created by a mobile phone company in February.
And when he answered that he would wear skinny jeans and give everyone free ice cream, not for a second did he think he would ever would get the chance to hand out hundreds of free ice cream cones throughout Swindon on a sunny Saturday.
But that is just what Vodafone allowed the New College finance student to do on Saturday throughout Old Town, Rodbourne, the Link Centre and Shaw Ridge.
In full uniform while standing beside three trucks ready to serve children Dan said: “I started wearing skinny jeans about two years ago, and I love wearing them, and I will continue to wear them, we should all be allowed to.
“When I wrote it on that website I was being totally serious, ice cream makes everyone feel happy.”
Some of the other wishes the company plan on making true include giving 10 laptops to a school after a teacher commented on the website and sending out 500 packets of Pez candy after one boy said that also made people happy.
