God bless you Guardian'

10:26am Thursday 2nd August 2001

A mother and her two sons have thanked the Croydon Guardian after our intervention ended five months of misery of being moved in B&B accommodation all over London.

Patricia Barroch, 48, pictured right, has won her battle to stay in a Croydon hotel until a permanent home can be found. She appealed to Lambeth council to be re-housed in February.

After finally settling in Dunheved Hotel, London Road, she was told again to pack her bags and leave the following morning, July 19, prompting her 14-year-old son to run away for several nights in despair.

But following Guardian enquiries, Lambeth Council had a change of heart and decided to extend her booking.

Mrs Barroch said: “I think your chat to them did some good. God bless you.”
