SWINDON TOWN: 'Everything to lose' in FA Cup tie
MACCLESFIELD at home was the “worst” draw Swindon Town could have been handed in the first round proper of the FA Cup, according to manager Paolo Di Canio.
Despite being drawn to face a non-league club at the County Ground on November 3, Di Canio suggested that the tie is not as easy as it may seem upon first glance.
He said: “It’s the worst one because you have everything to lose. In this game we arrive after Aston Villa where we will spend incredible energy mentally and physically.
“After Aston Villa you do not have a big name, with all respect to Macclesfield, but non-league.
“I have to think carefully about which players I choose, not because of rotation but because I would use young players with 100 per cent commitment and enthusiasm.
“For them it is the game of their lives - FA Cup, League One, Swindon. For us it should be the same but it is not easy.
“When I heard the news I thought this can be big trouble for us.”
Tickets for the game are available to Swindon fans at the reduced price of £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and students and £1 for juniors under 15.
