NORTH WILTS YOUTH LEAGUE: Goals galore despite few games for local players
6:00am Tuesday 30th October 2012 in Sport
THERE were plenty of goals in Under 12 Division 2 in the North Wilts Youth League.
On a weekend where the overall fixture list was greatly reduced due to half-term, competition was still fierce in the games that did go ahead.
And Under 12 Division 2 led the way with 15 goals scored across the two contests.
And Wootton Bassett B were on the end of a 6-3 defeat to Calne Royals.
In Under 10 Division 2, there was the somewhat unlikely scenario in youth football where two fixtures ended up as goalless draws.
Shaw and Ashton Keynes shared the points and Swindon Supermarine M and Swindon Rangers A did exactly the same in their clash.
Stratton Youth overcame Fairford Town Youth 3-1 in Under 10 Division 3.
In the division below, Kingshill ran riot in their 9-3 demolition of South Cerney B.
Old Town United A served notice of their considerable potential as they stormed to a 6-1 success over Lydiard Youth in Under 13 Division 1.
Stratton Juniors were sunk 2-0 against Forest Green Rovers in Under 9 Division 1.
Swindon Rangers nearly hit double figures in their contest with Fairford Town Youth.
Rangers smashed in nine goals and did not concede at the back in an excellent all-round performance.
In the Under 11 Wiltshire County Cup, there were wins for Wootton Bassett A, Shaw Eagles, Ferndale Rodbourne Pumas and Swindon Supermarine.
Bassett beat AFC Corsham 4-1 and Shaw Eagles defeated Ferndale Rodbourne Rovers 3-2.
Ferndale Rodbourne Pumas trounced Malmesbury Youth 8-0 and Supermarine were comfortable 8-0 winners over Ramsbury Juniors.
The biggest cup win of the day was reserved for Shaw, who were in rampant form as they put 14 unanswered goals past Croft Juniors Blue.
