AFC Globe are top of the Swindon & District Premier after a thumping 4-1 win over Lower Stratton.

Dom Mazzotta and Jose De Cruz both collected braces and the latter only just missed out on a hat-trick.

Stratton were much-improved in the second half but only managed one goal in reply.

Swiss Chalet are equal on points with Globe after hammering DJC Marlborough 7-1.

Gareth Walton and Danny Hawkins both slammed in doubles, one of the latter’s goals being from around 40 yards.

Darryl Herring, man of the match Neil Herring and player-manager John McGookin also registered, McGookin stabbing in from a yard out. Wayne Presley grabbed Marlborough’s consolation.

Spectrum collected their first win of the season against Village Inn despite missing a penalty in the first half.

Mark Cowen got the only goal of the match with a quarter of an hour remaining.

In Division One, Tap & Barrel stole three points late on against lowly Chiseldon.

Tap went into half-time 1-0 up thanks to Dave Toomey, and although Dan Webb equalised in the 85th minute, Toomey won it with the last kick of the game.

Swindon Spitfires got their first victory of 2012/13 as they defeated Larry’s Plaice 3-1.

Pete Fletcher, Sean Light and Pete Byrne converted with Byrne’s goal being a delightful chip. Steven Nicholls got Plaice’s consolation.

In the one Adver Cup fixture played at the weekend, Old Town overcame Ramsbury 3-2 in the first round.

Sam Nash, Shane Dodson and Chris Mouton registered for Old Town while Scott.Kimber and Charlie.Tippins got Ramsbury’s consolations.
