SWINDON TOWN: Bostock back at Spurs for treatment

John Bostock John Bostock

JOHN Bostock has returned to Tottenham for treatment on a groin problem, Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio has confirmed.

The midfielder picked up the injury in the 4-0 win at Stevenage last weekend and could be out for another fortnight.

“Bostock we know has a strain in his groin,” he said. “He belongs to Tottenham and they wanted to have the real picture in front of them so we sent him back with a scan. They can handle it and help him to recover quickly. We’re in daily contact with them to understand what is going on and when he can come back to us.

“For sure it is for another two weeks and then we decide how to get him fit again because we pay him.

“(Federico) Bessone is out, Nathan Thompson is back. He can be selected and Andy Williams trained today but he still feels pain.

“Alan Navarro is out because it will take a bit longer. He is not yet even ready to train. He has done big damage in his medial ligament.

“He is working and maintaining strength but the ligament has to regenerate completely.”

Not good news especially after he, by all accounts, was very impressive against stevenage, hope he's back soon. CM seemingly picks itself at minute then and i suppose Macca is next option as i doubt Louis Thompson would be considered ready to start. Hope Miller and Ferry stay fit!!

Hopefully this is the worse part of our season as goes injuries. Shame about Bostock, but he will come back stronger hopefully. Some good competition for places when everyone is fit. I think we will put a good run of games together soon.

Agreed!
.
Whilst you wanted him on the pitch on Tuesday it was the one appearance that I thought was too early and too dodgy.
---.
PDC had clearly stated that he was there for the atmosphere but that you and I would have expected him to come on had we already won or lost the game....0-2 down and chasing the game was a surprising time to bring him on.
---.
PDC knows his players and the situation so you have to trust him...
....but this one was a surprise.

Calm down chaps. Williams said after the game that he felt no effects from the injury; he just thought he was a bit short of match fitness. Bet he's involved on Saturday.

Wouldn't risk Andy to start Saturday, more important he's fit for Tuesday, sure paolo won't take a chance, bench at best against Maccalsfield.

Agreed Benno upfront and Storey for the last half hour, and keep AW for Tuesday. Would love to see RDV feature in both games.

Wiz, De Vita is my player of the season so far. He's only been on the fringe of things for much of it but has never let us down when called upon. Sublime pass he slid through to Williams to make Storey's first goal on Tues. That trio made such a difference.
