Loan options prove elusive for Di Canio (From Swindon Advertiser)

It was clear weeks ago that paolo would struggle to find any loanees with quality and level of fitness. \if he has his eye on such a player, why would they not be wanted by their parent club. If a RB comes (Riley) is he going to replace Thompson, don't see that happening, but we do need cover. In midfield we have Ferry, Bostock and Nat Thompson, all capablle players, so don't see him getting anyone better. Up front is where we have problems, saw Madine in the Friday game for Wednesday, looked OK, but if he is scoring goals for them, he's hardly going to come here.

I know you will all laugh at this, but Afinwaah was on another hat trick Saturday for Northampton, was nearly a town player after he left Swansea 5 years ago, but he was carrying an jnjury., I know he's big and really doesn't look like much of a footballer, but his goals per game is compareable with anyone and certainly more impressive than our mis-firing strikers.,

If Akinfenwaah was to lose around 5 stone then he would be playing at a lot higher level , cant see that happening though !

Akinfenwa scored his first career hat trick on Saturday, not "another".

Decent player but can't see us getting him. We will struggle to get anyone half reasonable in at this point, and every other team is looking to bolster their squads too - nice to hear from Paolo that he'd rather go with the players we have than blow the budget on players he doesn't think will do well here just for the sake of it, although some anti-PDC posters will probably choose to ignore that. We have a reasonable enough squad as it is, good enough to at least compete in this league. Can't help thinking that anyone we manage to bring in now, unless they're a real find, won't have enough time to gel or get to the required fitness levels. Some of the fringe players really should be upping their commiment levels as now is their chance to get a run in the side.

Church went on loan last week. Not too sure where though. Possibly Huddersfield.

Onwards and upwards just to let you know also Madine scored for Sheffield

I think Grim is trying to say he went to Huddersfield. Too late for us on that avenue.

Let him at the burger van he will lose a few stone through a eye off a needle.That will cause a stink with the other strikers.

its typical we miss out on a striker like madine, he'd have been ideal as a goalscorer with height option. his goal against boro was a mile offside by the way, it wasnt like he scored a wondergoal or anything so i thought we might still get him.

Saw in the paper today that 4 guys at Peterborough had been naughty boys. Maybe we should try and get one of these lads at Swindon, DC would soon sort them out, and the step up from Peterborough shouldn't be too hard for them. The four are: Gaby Zakuani, Tyronne Barnett, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Emile Sinclair.
